Alvin A. Maurer

Alvin A. Maurer, 46, Baltic, died at Crile Veterans Hospital, Cleveland, this morning following an illness of nine months.

Born February 4, 1916, in Bucks township, Tuscarawas county, he was a son of John and Katherine Snyder Maurer. 

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Baltic American Legion post and Zion United Church of Christ.

Surviving are his widow, Florence;  a son, John, and daughter, Donna, both of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Charles Eiler of Baltic, Mrs. Wade Harrold of Dover, Mrs. Cameron Stone and Mrs. Roy Hill, both of Canton, and Mrs. Robert Markley of New Philadelphia; three brothers, Edwin of  Dover, Wilbert of Sandusky and Lloyd of Newcomerstown.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. to Friday at the Zion church in charge of Rev. H.A. Hartmann.  Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Baltic.

Calling hours at the Lingler Funeral Home will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
