Laurethe Amalie Paul-Grønbaum

Miami, FL — Laurethe Amalie Paul-Grønbaum,
72, of Coral Gables, Florida, died on March 9, 1995, of congestive heart
failure at Beth Israel hospital. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, she
was the daughter of Henri and Beatrice Côté-Paul.
Raised in Copenhagen, Laurethe studied at the
University of Aalborg, and was graduated with a degree in business.
At the age of 19, her family escaped to nearby Malmö, Sweden, after
the German Army occupied the Kingdom of Denmark. In Sweden, Laurethe
met and eventually married Danish Naval officer Hans Meier-Grønbaum,
and they subsequently settled in Frederickshavn, a suburb of Copenhagen.
There, they operated several businesses, including a jewelry shop and a
konditori. After the death of her husband, she lived in Tel Aviv,
Israel and Coral Gables, Florida.
Surviving are two sons, Jens Grønbaum of
Tel Aviv, Israel, and Ryzcard Grøbaum of Nakhsholim, Israel; and
three daughters, Nora Grønbaum-Blair of Coral Gables, Florida, Elizabethe
Grønbaum-Sczeczymbinskii (Spears) of Tel Aviv, Israel and Tallahassee,
Florida, and Miriam Grønbaum-Lifshitz, of Eilat, Israel.
She was interred in Adat Ami mausoleum in Coral
Gables, Florida. |
