Elmer H. Wise Dies At Age Of 53 

Elmer H. Wise, 53, 440 Oxford Avenue, [Newcomerstown, OH] died Friday at Guernsey Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient five days. 

He was born September 13, 1910, at Newcomerstown, a son of Jesse and Augusta Schide Wise.  He was married January 18, 1933, to Susie Renner, who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Hill, Jr., Newcomerstown R.D. 1;  Mrs. Clyde Casteel, Newcomerstown and Miss Sara Wise of the home;  two foster daughters, Mrs. Gary Mathews and Miss Sharon Fouch, Newcomerstown;  two brothers, Ralph Wise, Sr., Newcomerstown, Lorin E. Wise of New Philadelphia;  one sister, Mrs. Laura Fouch, residence unknown, and six grandchildren.  A son, two sisters and three brothers are deceased. 

He was employed with the James B. Clow & Sons Company for 33 years, and later at the Newcomerstown Water Department.  He also was a former member of the Newcomerstown fire department. 

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and the Modern Woodsmen of America. 

Funeral services were held Monday from the Addy Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Clifford Sutton, and burial was made in West Lawn Cemetery.
